100 Things
[Currently sitting at 56.]
While I’ve already done some pretty amazing things in my life (Heli-skiing in Whistler for example) lately it feels like I somehow got off course. So, without going into grand detail about why I’ve (re)created this list, I’m just going to put it out there. And create a reminder of what my life was supposed to look like when I used to dream.
- Get married to my partner in crime.
- Adopt 1-2 kids before I’m 40.
- Visit all the countries in Europe.
- Summit Kilimanjaro.
- Visit Alaska.
- Visit all 50 states. (I’m shocked at the number of states I haven’t been to yet.)
- Take an Art History course.
- Buy a ridiculous piece of jewelry from Cartier.
- Get published – possibly a pastry book.
- Finish a marathon. (I could go either way on this one. I feel like its something I should do at least once but I’m not really excited about it.)
- Become fluent in French or Spanish.
- Travel to Japan in the Spring.
- Find a career I love, find value in and feel appreciated doing.
- Graduate from Pastry School.
- Purchase a home in a town/city I really want to be in. (Mountain town in Colorado? Apartment in Paris?)
- Snowboard at all the major North American resorts – Aspen, Tahoe, Jackson Hole, Sunshine, Tremblant, etc.
- Snowboard on all seven continents.
- Start a foundation honoring my father.
- Ride an elephant in Africa or SE Asia.
- Attend New York or Paris Fashion Week.
- Scuba Dive (I’ve never used my certification in open water.)
- Purchase a piece of art I won’t despise later.
- Move to Europe (preferably France) for one year.
- Learn to sew.
- Get professional boudoir photos of me before I get any older, saggier, or fatter. Learn to love my body.
- Teach Yoga.
- Be an extra on a film.
- Take a year off and travel around the world. (I had a chance once before and I blew it.)
- Visit the Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Champagne house.
- Master the proper use of my SLR, various lenses and lighting.
- Master Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator.
- Buy a custom made suit, preferably Armani.
- Learn to sing.
- Walk the red carpet.
- Fly in the cockpit of a plane – private or commercial.
- Act in a play or film.
- Forgive my parents and forget it.
- Go up in a hot-air balloon.
- Overcome my fear of failure.
- Write my life story.
- Visit Washington D.C.
- Attend Cannes.
- Drive a Formula 1 Race Car.
- Become a Wine Connoisseur.
- Become a millionaire and create enough income so that I don’t have to work another day in my life.
- Enjoy my 15 minutes.
- Attend TED.
- Die with No Regrets.
- Re-learn Sign Language.
- Spend a long weekend traveling around Napa. (I spent a day driving around Napa in 3/09. Not the same.)
- Visit Redwood National Park.
- Hike to Camp Muir.
- Take a ballet class. (Jan. 2009)
- Start dancing again – and possibly perform in front of a live audience again. (New Years Eve 2009)
- Own my own company. Be my own boss.
- Learn Letterpress. Use craft for work and fun.
